Whimsy Official is on a mission to redefine clean. We believe in producing wellness and beauty essentials that are natural, ethical, and inclusive to all. With greenwashing and low standards at every corner of the industry, we've decided to develop our own clean benchmark – one that asks more questions, offers more transparency, and truly puts our customers are the forefront of everything we create.

Our 3 Official Pillars takes the industry standard of clean beauty and refines it in a way that's never been done. Using strategic market research, consumer feedback, and real life experience, we've developed a standard that caters to all skin types, all ages, and all seasons of life. We are proud to produce skincare that is safe for severe allergies, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and chronic skin conditions.

In addition to being organic and vegan, Whimsy Official ingredients are free from the top 8 allergens – even nuts, gluten, and soy. Even when an individual does not have allergy concerns, using skincare or supplements containing an allergen can be dangerous to loved ones who do. Our allergen-free products are safe for all individuals, completely eliminating concern for cross-contamination.

The comedogenic scale determines the propensity an ingredient has to cause breakouts or clog the pores (the scale ranges from 0-5 with 5 being the most likely to cause breakouts). Ingredients such as coconut oil (a lab-refined filler ingredient also known as capric/caprylic triglycerides on INCI lists) are very high on the comedogenic scale, and over time may severely clog pores and restrict proper hydration and airflow to the deeper layers of the skin. Even when immediate breakouts do not occur, clogged pores cause bacteria and excess oil to remain inside the pores, encouraging breakouts to happen later on. Halcyon Botanic Serum is a 2 on the comedogenic scale, making it safe to use on the skin, even in abundance.

While plant-derived extracts offer tantalizing scents for skincare, they offer no nutrient benefit for the skin and can often cause underlying issues such as deterioration of the skin's acid mantle (protective outer barrier). Since essential oils and absolutes are highly concentrated forms of natural fragrance, even small amounts can cause damage and irritation to the skin. When the skin's acid mantle is disrupted, it damages the skin's ability to fight off free radicals and UV A/B rays. Essential oils and absolutes can cause dryness, excess oil production, and allergic reactions disguised as blemishes and discoloration.
